High silica cloth is silicon oxide amorphous continuous fiber fabric which has more than 96% SiO2. It is woven from e-glass fiberglass yarns. Then the post-treatment - acid treatment and calcination make the fiberglass fabric with higher temperature resistance and higher density. The softening point of silica cloth is near 1300℃ and it can resist a high temperature below 800℃ continuously.
Common specifications we produce for high silica cloth are 600g/m2 and 1200g/m2. This high temp-resistant high silica cloth is usually used to produce welding blankets and a fire blanket for equipment and personal safety. Besides, high silica cloth is also used for thermal insulation cover to save heat and energy costs in the machinery field. For specific requirements, high silica cloth will be coated with silicone for higher abrasion resistance and better electrical insulation features.
This 1.3mm high silica cloth is weighed at 1200gsm. Weave type is satin weave, also called break twill weave. The satin weave is more stable than plain weave because it has more yarns in one direction. This heavy-duty 1.3mm 1200gsm high silica cloth is capable of keeping physical properties when it is used below 1200℃ continuously. The width available of this fabric is 91.44cm and 100cm.
